BIOGAL biogas company: workshop in Austria - 31st of August
On the 31st of August, 19 people attended a workshop about the Biogal success story showcase, 12 of them primary producers. The workshop was held in Linz, Austria. Biogal is an enterprise producing biogas from pig and poultry manure in Poland. Austrian ambassador Florian Brunner attended the Biogal showcase, as part of the COOPID project, and Mr. Brunner presented information about the showcase.
Attendees were impressed by the size and the catchment area of the biogas plant, and the logistical challenges of managing it, and found similarities with feedstocks commonly used to produce biogas in Austria.
Carbery Group: Workshop in Poland – 30th of September
Twenty primary producers participated in the workshop, ensuring a lively and practical discussion of the showcase.
PINDOS poultry cooperative: workshop in Austria -15th of September
On September 15th, 17 people gathered in Gleisdorf, Austria for a workshop about the PINDOS success story showcase. PINDOS is a poultry producer in Greece, that was visited by Austrian ambassador Nina Schweinzger, as part of the COOPID project.
Ms. Schweinziger is a poultry farmer and educator, with 6,700 free-range hens. Ms. Schweinziger presented information about the COOPID project, her experience of the PINDOS showcase, and the implications for the Austrian poultry industry.
Pelletierung: 4th Finnish workshop - 13th of October
The event, entitled “Innovations for energy production and utilisation of side streams of agricultural farms”, included presentations from ProAgria staff Tuomo Heikura, Taru Koskinen, and Olli Nurkkala, Finnish Ambassadors for the success story event in Austria, Jari Eerola (Setälä-Eerola Oy) and Manu Hollmén (ProAgria Länsi-Suomi). Jari Eerola discussed the climate-related activities taking place on the Setälä-Eerola Oy, including the prize that they won from the MTK Foundation, “From Climate Anxiety to Climate Opportunities”. In addition, Timo Lehtiniemi (North Ostrobothnia Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment) discussed investment subsidies for farms, while Kirsikka Kiviranta and Jyrki Raitila (Teknologian tutkimuskeskus VTT Oy) discussed farm-based energy solutions
