Grand Est Bioeconomy Ecosystem Workshop hosted by ProAgria, Finland
On June 28th a varied audience of primary producers, education institutions, development companies, associations, municipalities and governmental institutions gathered for an online workshop about the Grand Est Bioeconomy Ecosystem Success Story showcase which took place on February 3rd, 2022.

Speakers included the Finnish ambassadors to the Grand Est Bioeconomy System showcase, Anne Sormunen (City of Haapavesi / The “Biocluster to Oulu South – potential from Haapavesi” project) and Sanna Tuomela (University of Oulu); Karoliina Aalto (ProAgria Keskusten Liitto), Taru Koskinen (ProAgria Oulu), and Anja Norja (South Ostrobothnia Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment).
Discussion carried out
The speakers discussed opportunities for primary producers in the bioeconomy, the French success story showcase about the activities of companies in the Grand Est region and other domestic and international bioeconomy initiatives, such as the Ministry of Agriculture’s Nutrient Recycling Pilot Programme 2020–2022 and the MARIKA Project for the Development of Nutrient Recycling Economy, followed by a lively discussion and brainstorming session.
